In July 2025,  J&N Security Consultants Ltd. were engaged by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (DLRCC) to provide design and consultancy services for the upgrade of the existing Dun Laoghaire Harbour CCTV system and for the provision of a fibre network throughout the Harbour on which the CCTV system would operate. 
 

Initial consultations with Harbour Management have been undertaken and survey work commenced on site in September 2025. The initial focus is on the installation of a fibre network for the Harbour. At present a survey of the existing duct network is underway with a view to assessing the extent and structural integrity of the existing duct network.   A Gap Analysis report will be prepared on conclusion of these works in February 2026. 
 

Additional new ducting will be required to bring new camera locations within the scope of the new fibre network.   This work will be quantified once the initial survey of the existing ducting is completed. Works will then be undertaken to rectify any shortcomings in the existing duct network and to install the additional sections of new duct as well as pillars for fibre switches required.
 

Initial design options have also been prepared for the CCTV system and these are being considered by Harbour Management at present.
